Governor of Lemhannas RI Dr. H. TB. Ace Hasan Syadzily, M.Si attended a fast-breaking gathering together with the Minister of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia Prof. Dr. Nasaruddin Umar, M.A. and the Alumni Association of State Islamic Universities (UIN) throughout Indonesia on Jalan Matraman Timur, Central Jakarta, on Saturday (22/3). On that occasion, the Governor of Lemhannas RI discussed religious and national issues.
The Governor of Lemhannas RI invited participants to be grateful for all the abundant wealth that Indonesia has. It was also said that Muslims contributed greatly to Indonesia's independence. "So the progress of Indonesia depends on the people," he said.
Furthermore, the Governor of Lemhannas RI said that in the context of nation state, the state should not be viewed from the perspective of religious sectarianism. However, reflecting on the responsibility of Muslims who have helped build Indonesian civilization, realizing an advanced Indonesia also lies in the representation of the community who have also studied at UIN/IAIN (State Islamic Institute).
This can be seen from the Muslim community who have a background as “santri”, now also filling strategic positions in Indonesia. “If we call the goal of Indonesia's a-hundred-year-independence in 2045 which is Golden Indonesia can be realized, Islam is represented in by the Indonesian Muslim community. So I think this is a fight for all of us," said the Governor of Lemhannas RI.
In the current era, the Governor of Lemhannas RI believes that Muslims can show adequate quality of human resources (HR) so that they can compete in the midst of global competition. For that, the existence of the community needs to be built by advancing the quality of Human Resources, one of which is from the santri community in the history of the nation's journey.
This needs to be realized because it highlighted the program of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka who want to restore the nation's independence by utilizing Indonesia's natural resources, without having to depend on other nations. It is hoped that Indonesia will become a model of a modern country in which Islamic values greatly influence the civilization of Indonesia. The Governor of Lemhannas RI hopes that the Chancellors of UIN throughout Indonesia and Islamic mass organizations are able to continue to transform and encourage the mobility of Indonesian human resources so that they have a strong national character. With a strong national character, the potential of the people will not be exploited by parties who do not want Indonesia to become a developed country.
"I think our sacred mission task is to lead us to become an advanced nation. Of course, this moment is the right moment for us and the contribution of alumni of UIN, IAIN, STAIN (State Islamic College) and Islamic boarding schools is very important for the progress of our nation in the future," he concluded.
At the end of the event, the Governor of Lemhannas RI emphasized that he and all the UIN Alumni Associations throughout Indonesia are committed to contribute to the progress of the nation, one of which is to improve quality schools by building national character including for madrasahs and Islamic boarding schools which are the foundation for the progress of the nation.
