“The legal and economic sectors are pillars of national resilience. Legal certainty is crucial for ensuring that our economy runs smoothly,” the Governor of Lemhannas RI stated during the public lecture at the Lemhannas Goes to Campus event at the Syekh Abdul Halim Hasan Institute (INSAN) in Binjai on Friday (1/30).

During the event, the Governor explained that to achieve sustainable national resilience, the legal and economic sectors must be strengthened. In the legal sector, law enforcement, legal certainty, and strengthening the law and multilateral diplomacy are necessary. Legal certainty attracts foreign investment, supports sustainable economic development, and upholds justice in the management of natural resources. Meanwhile, strengthening law and multilateral diplomacy will raise Indonesia's profile on the global stage and prevent it from becoming dominated by major powers.

In the economic sector, stability and independence are needed. Stability will enable the country to remain resilient, even in the event of a crisis. Economic independence would reduce reliance on imports, making Indonesia less susceptible to intervention by other nations. “If the law can be enforced, certainty in the economic sector can also be achieved,” he said.

However, Indonesia is facing legal and economic challenges in achieving strong national resilience. Legal uncertainty remains unresolved, even though the law should provide the community with a sense of justice. Furthermore, Indonesia's incremental capital output ratio (ICOR) remains relatively high compared to that of other countries. Addressing such issues requires collaboration from various sectors, including universities and the younger generation.

The Governor of Lemhannas RI mentioned the important role universities and young people play in overcoming the various threats, challenges, obstacles, and disruptions we face today. He stated that universities play a crucial role in promoting geopolitical literacy. "If we want to become an advanced country, we must strengthen the role of universities," he said. This awareness has inspired Lemhannas RI to promote its Lemhannas Goes to Campus program.

Also attending the event were the Mayor of Binjai, Drs. H. Amir Hamzah, M.AP.; the Prime Secretary of Lemhannas RI, Police Commissioner General Drs. R.Z. Panca Putra S., M.Si.; the Chair of the Al-Ishlahiyah Binjai Foundation, Afril Djoelianti; the Chair of Al-Ishlahiyah Binjai Putri, Susi Meilani Daulay, S.E.; the Rector of INSAN Binjai, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ramadhan, M.A.; Acting Deputy for Strengthening of National Values, Major General Raden Djaenudin Selamet, S.E.; the Head of the North Sumatra Provincial Office of Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mulyono, S.T., M.Si.; Rector of the Jam'iyah Mahmudiyah Langkat Islamic Institute Dr. Muhammad Saleh, S.H.I., M.A.; the Vice Chair of Academic Affairs at STKIP Budidaya Binjai Dr. Erlinda Nofasari, S.Pd., M.Pd.; INSAN officials; and representatives of teaching experts and research experts from Lemhannas RI.
