Diplomatic relations between the United Arab Emirates and Indonesia have lasted for 50 years. Over this period, the relationship has fostered strategic cooperation, particularly in the energy sector, such as oil and gas. H.E. Abdulla Salem Al Dhaheri highlighted the promising opportunities arising from the UAE–Indonesia relationship. “We are looking forward to these projects continuing to grow rapidly and reaching even greater heights,” said H.E. The Governor of Lemhannas RI warmly welcomed the visit. He expressed that it would be an honor if the UAE government could establish concrete cooperation with Lemhannas RI, one example being through educational exchange programs at Lemhannas RI. “This will certainly further strengthen defense relations between our countries, allowing us to exchange thoughts and ideas on how we can actively participate in the roles we hold,” said the Governor of Lemhannas RI.
On the occasion, H.E. Abdulla Salem Al Dhaheri emphasized continued efforts to promote investment in Indonesia. One form of UAE investment is cooperation with Pertamina Geothermal. He explained that the UAE does not focus solely on equity ownership in its investments but prefers a sustainable long-term investment approach.
The Governor of Lemhannas RI stated that he will continue to encourage the Indonesian government, especially the President, to further strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation with the UAE. He explained that various forms of collaboration can be pursued, particularly those related to job creation, improving public welfare, and meeting basic needs such as food, energy, and economic development.
