In commemoration of the 54th Anniversary of the Indonesian Civil Servants Corps (Korpri) in 2025, Korpri Lemhannas RI held a Health Talk and Gold Investment Seminar at the Gadjah Mada Auditorium on Monday (10/11). This event marked the first activity in the series of celebrations for Korpri’s 54th anniversary.

In his remarks, Chairwoman of Lemhannas RI’s Korpri Board, Prof. Dr. Ir. Bondan Tiara Sofyan, M.Si., stated that the event was organized to provide practical insights and guidance to all civil servants, TNI, and Polri personnel at Lemhannas RI regarding the importance of maintaining a balance between work and personal life, strengthening mental health, and fostering a culture of wise financial habits through understanding gold investment. “Work-life balance is not merely a term but a way of life that allows us to work productively without compromising mental health and physical fitness,” said Prof. Bondan Tiara.

Prof. Bondan Tiara added that employees with healthy minds and balanced lives are able to deliver their best performance for their institutions and the nation. Therefore, stress management, time management, maintaining social relationships, and healthy living habits should become part of our daily routines.

The event featured psychologist Meutia Ananda, S.Psi., M.Psi. from PT. Kimia Farma, who presented on “Work-Life Balance: Healthy Mind, Strong Life, Great Work.” Meutia explained that workers experiencing excessive burnout face decreased job satisfaction, lower individual and team performance, declining attendance and health, higher turnover, and negative impacts on mental well-being. However, overemphasizing work-life balance also has drawbacks, including reduced commitment to work, obstacles in career development, misalignment with organizational culture, short-term productivity decline, and a tendency to remain in the comfort zone.

In line with this, there are two types of interventions that can be applied, from both organizational and psychological (individual) perspectives. From an organizational perspective, interventions may include implementing working hours and methods that match job characteristics, providing recognition for performance, offering mental health and welfare support to employees, and opening communication channels through job satisfaction surveys, suggestion boxes, and focus group discussions (FGDs).

From a psychological perspective, individuals can better recognize their physical and emotional boundaries between work and personal life, focus on hope, efficacy, resilience, optimism (HERO) to maintain work motivation without losing personal life, practice self-regulation, and apply cognitive reframing by viewing work as a meaningful part of life (work-life enrichment). Concluding her presentation, Meutia emphasized that a healthy mind can be achieved by reducing burnout and stress, leading to a strong life built on resilience and optimism. With a healthy mind and strong life, work performance can improve.

The event continued with a seminar on Gold Investment Towards a Golden Future” presented by Ela N. Soepandy, Relationship Manager of the Bullion Business Division at PT. Pegadaian. Ela shared several investment product recommendations, including savings accounts, deposits, government bonds, gold, property, mutual funds, and stocks.

Among these investment products, gold has stable asset value (inflation-resistant), can be easily liquidated into cash, is simple to buy and manage, can serve as emergency funds, and protects wealth. Accordingly, Pegadaian provides gold savings, a service that converts deposited funds into gold, making it easier for the public to invest in gold.

A well-understood gold investment can serve as one of the instruments to strengthen family economic resilience. Through the gold investment seminar, it is hoped that all Lemhannas RI personnel gain practical understanding of the benefits, risks, and safe mechanisms of gold investment in line with personal financial planning.
