Designing Regional Priority Programs, KPPD Participants Engage in Strategic Learning in Singapore
News & Article Monday, 10 November 2025, 15:00After receiving intensive training on integrity-driven leadership and national insight in Jakarta, the participants of the Executive Course for Regional Leaders (KPPD) Batch II are now attending a strategic learning session at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy - National University of Singapore (LKYSPP–NUS), held from November 9 to November 15, 2025. Participants will receive enrichment on priority programs, innovation, and modern governance to develop regional leadership competencies capable of designing and implementing regional priority programs as a continuation of the government’s Asta Cita vision and mission.
Several notable figures and experts from Singapore participated in the activities, including Mr. Chan Chun Sing, Singapore’s Coordinating Minister for Public Services and Minister for Defence – Closing Dialogue; Prof. Lim Siong Guan – Governance, Leadership, and Accountability: Singapore’s Experience; Colin Goh – Clean, Green, and Blue: Singapore’s Environmental Sustainability Journey; Prof. Yaacob Ibrahim – Midpoint Learning Reflections and Digital Transformation in Singapore; Prof. Fong Chun Wah – Singapore’s Public Housing Story: Live Well, Live Green, Live Connected; Dr. Ng Yeuk Fan – Healthcare System in Singapore: A Whole System Approach; Ms. Chan Lai Fung – Education: Singapore’s Experience; and Prof. Lawrence Loh – Public-Private Partnership: Insight on Governance and Sustainability with Applications in Indonesia and Singapore.
This program provides participants with direct insights into national development strategies, visionary leadership, and public policy transformation. They were invited to observe the way consistent policy direction and effective leadership have become the foundation for Singapore’s advancement from a developing country to a global economic and innovation hub.
In addition to leadership, the group also studied an integrated waste management system that converts waste into environmentally friendly electricity. This model serves as a concrete example of implementing sustainable development principles efficiently, with a broad impact on the quality of life for citizens.
In another session, KPPD Participants reviewed Singapore’s digital governance system and public healthcare services, which are managed transparently and responsively. The integrative approach combining policy, technology, and public service offers an important source of inspiration for strengthening local government systems in Indonesia.
By participating in this program, KPPD members are encouraged to carry forward the spirit of transformational leadership, innovative policymaking, and sustainable resource management to advance development in their respective regions.
