Shaping the Future: Batch 70 P4N Participants Tasked with Guiding Indonesia Through Global Uncertainty

The Governor of Lemhanas RI, Dr. H. TB. Ace Hasan Syadzily, M.Si, led the opening ceremony for the 70^th Preparation and Consolidation of National-level Leaders Program (P4N) on Tuesday (6/30).

In his remarks, the Governor stated that education at Lemhanas RI holds a crucial role in national resilience. In an increasingly complex world with multidimensional challenges, a nation’s resilience is determined by more than just military strength; it also depends on the quality of its human resources, economic competitiveness, socio-cultural resilience, ideological steadfastness, and the political capacity to maintain national unity and sovereignty.

The 70^th P4N at Lemhannas RI was conducted with the theme “Strengthening the Capacity of National-Level Leaders to Support the Asta Cita in Realizing Indonesia Emas 2045.” This issue is particularly relevant to future leadership challenges, as the Indonesian nation must prepare leaders capable of navigating the dynamics of the strategic environment—whether at the national, regional, or global levels. “A national-level leader must possess expertise in more than just a single field; they must be able to view the nation’s challenges comprehensively from multiple dimensions,” the Governor of Lemhannas RI stated.

Indonesia is now facing multiple strategic issues, including global geopolitical and geoeconomic dynamics—such as the recent U.S.-Israel war against Iran, which has impacted global supply chains. Additionally, socioeconomic issues remain prominent, including high rates of poverty and unemployment in certain regions, vulnerable food security, and a rapidly advancing digital transformation, which varies greatly across Indonesia. Furthermore, the quality of human resources still needs improvement to compete at the global level; political polarization and challenges to democratic consolidation could affect national unity and cohesion, and environmental crises and the threat of climate change directly impact the sustainability of development.

In this scenario, people need to prepare for the impacts of climate change, particularly with the emergence of the El Niño phenomenon, predicted to intensify from a moderate to a strong phase. This could trigger drier and longer-lasting dry seasons, potentially leading to prolonged droughts and forest fires, affecting national resilience.

To address these challenges, we need strong, responsive national leadership focused on disaster mitigation, strengthening regional resilience, and fostering collaboration among the government sectors, the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), the Indonesian National Police (Polri), and all components of the nation to ensure the safety of the people and the sustainability of national development. Therefore, a comprehensive, integral, and holistic leadership mentality is an absolute prerequisite for future leaders.

The Governor of Lemhannas RI stated that Lemhannas RI’s educational programs provide a strategic platform for shaping national leaders whose capabilities include forward-looking thinking, adaptive leadership, and the ability to assess the direction of global geopolitical and geoeconomic shifts comprehensively. Participants will be equipped with strategic analytical skills to formulate policies that are not only reactive to current issues but also proactive in anticipating future risks and opportunities.

In line with this, participants are guided to support the implementation of Asta Cita as the grand framework for Indonesia’s transformation toward self-reliance, sovereignty, and sustainable advancement. This education program not only emphasizes strengthening strategic sectors such as food, energy, and industry but also focuses on digital transformation, improving the quality of human resources, and reinforcing Indonesia’s position in navigating geopolitical dynamics at regional and global levels.

Through the educational program at Lemhannas RI, participants are expected to become more than just bureaucratic managers; they are to become architects of strategic policy capable of fully integrating national, regional, and global perspectives. This will foster leaders who are capable of addressing current challenges and shaping Indonesia’s future direction in the face of an ever-changing and uncertain world.

Over the course of five and a half months, participants receive lessons on national insight, national leadership, national resilience, geopolitics, and geostrategy through the Asta Gatra approach. This training is also complemented by a series of learning programs, discussions, and strategic studies covering various strategic issues, including strengthening integrity and anti-corruption, public communication, economic, social, and governance transformation, industrial downstreaming, government digitalization, and the consolidation of democracy—all aimed at understanding and implementing the “Asta Cita” vision of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

Concluding his remarks, the Governor of Lemhannas RI congratulated all participants and expressed his hope that they would return to their respective institutions as high-quality national-level leadership cadres. “I also hope that, after completing this program, the participants will return to their respective institutions as national-level leadership cadres possessing the qualifications for national strategic leadership—capable of adding value, driving their organizations forward, and strengthening government governance in accordance with their roles and functions as strategic officials within their respective institutions,” the Governor of Lemhannas RI concluded.

The 70^th P4N comprised 110 participants, including 54 from the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), 31 from the Indonesian National Police (Polri), ten from ministries, four from state agencies, eight from non-ministerial government agencies, one from local government, one from an educational institution, and one from a civil society organization.
