Lemhannas RI Emphasizes SOEs' Role as State Defenders

The Governor of Lemhannas RI, Dr. H. TB. Ace Hasan Syadzily, M.Si., received an audience from PT Pertamina (Persero) in the Governor's Executive Guest Room on Monday (September 14). The delegation was led by the Human Resources (HR) Director of PT Pertamina (Persero), Andy Arvianto.

During the meeting, the Governor of Lemhannas RI highlighted that new and renewable energy has been selected as the core educational theme for the Lemhannas RI P4N (Preparation and Consolidation Program for the National-level Leaders) 70. He noted that this aligns with the government's establishment of various regulations regarding the transition to sustainable energy. "To ensure that our future leaders possess the necessary awareness, we must initiate the transformation toward new and renewable energy at this current stage," the Governor said.

In response, Andy explained that Pertamina is implementing a dual growth strategy through an ambidextrous energy approach. Under this strategy, the company's legacy businesses—particularly those related to oil and gas resources—continue to be driven for growth. At the same time, the company actively pursues the development of low-carbon energy businesses as a critical part of its energy transformation.

To support this shift, Pertamina New and Renewable Energy was established to spearhead the development of sustainable business lines. As this sector expands, demand for new competencies is rising. Andy specifically highlighted a growing need for experts in carbon trading, a sector the company is currently developing. He hoped that Lemhannas RI could conduct deeper studies and assessments into this emerging field.

The discussion also covered human resources development for Pertamina's Board of Directors (BOD), particularly strengthening national values. The Governor of Lemhannas RI warmly welcomed the initiative. "We must continuously remind them that State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) are also defenders of the nation, not merely profit-seekers. They are defenders who must maintain a careful balance between commercial business and their duties to the state," the Governor asserted.

Additionally, the two parties reviewed their existing cooperation agreement, which remains valid until 2028. The audience included discussions on elevating this technical cooperation at the holding company level into a formal Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This upgrade aims to provide a more robust legal umbrella for their ongoing partnership.

Also representing Pertamina at the meeting were SVP Pertamina Corporate University (PCU) Robby Rafid, VP Learning Management Pertamina Corporate University Rosalia Ambar Yuniarti, LSPG Manager Vinni Indrawati, President Director PT Pertamina Training & Consulting Muhammad Shabran Fauzani, and Operation & Marketing Director of PT Pertamina Consulting Yudi Somantri.
