The Governor of Lemhannas RI, Dr. H. TB. Ace Hasan Syadzily, M.Si., delivered a general lecture during the Introduction to Campus Life for New Students (PKKMB) at Campus A, Universitas Trisakti, on Thursday (August 27). The lecture was part of the "Lemhannas Goes to Campus" event, Lemhannas RI's program for consolidating national values.
Opening his presentation, the Lemhannas RI Governor said the PKKMB is a gateway into the academic community, building a younger generation that is intelligent, critical, and has strong national character in preparation for Indonesia Emas 2045. The Lemhannas RI Governor used the occasion to highlight Universitas Trisakti's historic role, recognizing it as a symbol of the brave student action that drove Indonesia into the 1998 reform era.
"Therefore, your struggle must be fought through science, innovation, technology, entrepreneurship, a healthy digital space, and community service," the Lemhannas RI Governor said. He believes courage can be shown by thinking critically, upholding high integrity, rejecting hoaxes and disinformation, fighting corruption, and maintaining unity. The Lemhannas RI Governor hopes the students present will not only become heirs to Trisakti's history but also successors to its legacy who actively contribute to Indonesia.
Furthermore, the Lemhannas RI Governor said Indonesia needs a younger generation capable of competing globally without losing its cultural roots. Therefore, the nation's identity must be reflected in the values we believe in and the behaviours we practice. This identity stems from the values of Pancasila, Bhinneka Tunggal Ika (Unity in Diversity), gotong royong (collaboration), deliberation, tolerance, justice, unity, and a sense of responsibility toward one another.
As part of the youth, students are expected to embody the spirit of national defense. This means dedicating their lives, education, work, and creativity to building a better Indonesia. "Showcasing your achievements and boosting Trisakti's reputation on the global stage is also a form of national defense," the Lemhannas RI Governor said.
The nation's identity and the character of national defense instilled in the younger generation aim to build superior human resources for Indonesia. Indonesia's grand aspiration to become one of the world's powers by 2045 through economic progress, technology, and modern infrastructure development requires not only physical development and innovation but also superior human resources. These people must be competent, have strong character, uphold high integrity, demonstrate intellectual brilliance, and be responsible.
Furthermore, the Lemhannas RI Governor stated that students need resilience—the ability to anticipate and face shocks, adapt, rise, and become stronger after facing a crisis. Indonesia will reach a century of independence in 2045, and the Lemhannas RI Governor hopes all Universitas Trisakti students will lead the nation's journey. "Make your alma mater proud, be useful to those around you, and be the generation that gives its all for Indonesia," the Lemhannas RI Governor remarked.
Concluding his general lecture, the Lemhannas RI Governor expressed his highest appreciation to the Rector of Universitas Trisakti and his staff. He hoped that Universitas Trisakti would become a pioneer of change and a center for forming national character in preparation for Indonesia Emas 2045. (SP/CHP/DA)
