“The participants of the education program at Lemhannas RI are carefully selected individuals; their success as future national leaders depends on the support of their spouses,” the Governor of Lemhannas RI, Dr. H. TB. Ace Hasan Syadzily, M.Si., said during the orientation session for the Lemhannas RI P4N Batch 69 Spouses’ Training Program at the Gadjah Mada Auditorium on Monday (6/29).

The training program aimed to provide spouses of Lemhannas RI education participants with an understanding of the implementation of the 69th P4N at Lemhannas RI, to equip and strengthen their roles as partners to national-level leaders, and to foster camaraderie and a sense of family among the spouses and Lemhannas RI. The Governor of Lemhannas RI emphasized that the spouses of national leaders must understand each other to achieve the best possible outcomes for the nation and the state.

On this occasion, the Governor of Lemhannas RI stated that Indonesia needs national resilience derived from all components of the nation. “Building a nation cannot be accomplished by a single entity, but requires integrating all national strengths under a shared vision and common interests toward national goals,” he said.

The Governor of Lemhannas RI explained that national resilience is the dynamic condition of a nation in facing and overcoming various threats, challenges, obstacles, and disruptions—both domestic and foreign—to ensure the existence, integrity, and survival of the nation and state. In line with this, national resilience also serves as a guardian of national values, including Pancasila, the 1945 Constitution, the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI), and Bhinneka Tunggal Ika.

In realizing this national resilience, the Governor of Lemhannas RI further stated that the process must begin with fostering family resilience as its foundational pillar. This is because the family plays a crucial role in shaping strong individual character and values. The family is responsible for providing education and guidance to children, and it can also reinforce national values, develop high-quality human resources, and enhance the well-being of society.

The Governor of Lemhannas RI explained that Indonesian women are the key actors in achieving national resilience and mitigating the potential for social conflict. In addition to their role in achieving national resilience, he also hoped that women, as wives, will become agents of change, guardians of social balance, guardians of family stability, drivers of transnational movements (religious, environmental, and non-NGO initiatives), and community leaders.

Concluding his presentation, the Governor of Lemhannas RI reminded the audience that the P4N Batch 69 at Lemhannas RI aims to prepare and strengthen national-level leadership cadres who are moral, ethical, and possess statesmanlike character; have a national perspective; think strategically; and are skilled at solving problems at the national, regional, and global levels. Therefore, as companions to future national leaders, they have to uphold integrity and set a good example in supporting their spouses’ respective duties.

“National leaders are not superheroes, but they must be able to build collaborations and adapt to the strategic environment to ensure national resilience,” the Governor of Lemhannas RI concluded. (SP/CHP/DA)
