President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto delivered a briefing to participants of the Regional Leadership Consolidation Course (KPPD) for Heads of Regional Legislative Councils (DPRD) from across the country, held at the Indonesian Military Academy (Akmil) in Magelang on Saturday (4/18). The event carried the theme, “Strengthening the role of provincial, regency, and municipal Legislative Councils to support Asta Cita in advancing toward Indonesia Emas 2045.” The presidential briefing commenced with the singing of the national anthem, “Indonesia Raya,” solemnly observed by all participants, followed by a report from Dr. H. Tb. Ace Hasan Syadzily, M.Si., Governor of Lemhannas RI, outlining the implementation and objectives of the 2026 KPPD. The Governor of Lemhannas RI stated that the KPPD aims to shape regional leaders with statesmanlike character, patriotism, integrity, global-mindedness, and the ability to think comprehensively, integrally, and holistically while remaining firmly oriented toward national interests. Participants are also expected to translate the Asta Cita vision into regional planning documents and to foster cooperation and collaboration in advancing good governance. “The Head of Regional LEgislative Councils hold a strategic and fundamental role in ensuring that policymaking processes at the regional level are aligned with the nation’s broader vision under President Prabowo’s leadership,” he said. He added that the KPPD runs for five days, from April 15 to 19, 2026, and is attended by 503 heads of Regional Legislative Councils from across Indonesia. In his opening remarks, Prabowo said his presence reflected the strategic importance of Regional Legislative Council heads. The forum also provided an opportunity for the President to convey his views directly to regional legislative leaders. Speaking not only as head of state but also as a fellow citizen, Prabowo struck a personal tone. “As a son of this nation, today I want to speak from the heart candidly and as I am,” he said. He also highlighted the diverse backgrounds of participants, from regions, ethnicities, and educational paths to political affiliations as a unifying force under a shared national spirit. “I see us all here, in this tent, as patriots,” he added. Through this strategic momentum, Prabowo underscored that Indonesia’s strength is not determined solely at the center, but rests on solid, integrity-driven leadership across regions that prioritizes the people’s interests.
