The Vice Governor of Lemhannas RI, Vice Admiral Erwin S. Aldedharma, accompanied several participants of the 69th Batch of the Preparation and Consolidation Education National-level Leaders (P4N) of Lemhannas RI on an Overseas Strategic Study (SSLN) to Thailand from June 8 to 10, 2026. By participating in the SSLN, the participants are expected to study and compile comprehensive data regarding the Pancagatra (five aspects of national life) conditions of the host country for comparative purposes.

One of the primary objectives of the SSLN program is to obtain objective information and facts regarding the conditions of the destination country. Through this strategic study visit to Thailand, participants are expected to gain valuable insights into the policies governing Thailand's food security programs and agricultural industry, enabling them to provide strategic recommendations for national policymakers to realize Indonesia's national interests better.

The first agenda of the SSLN in Thailand was a courtesy call to the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) in Bangkok. The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to Thailand, His Excellency Hari Prabowo, warmly welcomed the participants. The subsequent visit was to the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives. There, the participants engaged in in-depth discussions regarding Thailand's food security and agricultural sector.

The following day, the strategic study delegation visited the Ministry of Commerce. Discussions at this ministry centered on food security from an economic perspective. Furthermore, the official visit concluded with an observation tour of the Asiatique Night Market. This location was selected as a site for data collection regarding Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and food security as an integral part of the socio-cultural aspect. (ZA/CHP/DA)
