News & Article Thursday, 04 June 2026, 14:00The National Resilience Institute of the Republic of Indonesia (Lemhannas RI) received a visit from the International Collaborative Study Programme (ICSP) – National Defence College (NDC) Course Sri Lanka in the Nusantara II Room on Thursday (6/4). The event commenced with the screening of a Lemhannas RI profile video, followed by a presentation titled "Strategic Guardians: Comparing National Security Frameworks."
During the event, the Professional Expert in Natural Resources at Lemhannas RI, Ir. Edi Permadi, delivered a presentation focusing on defense education and strategic leadership, as well as the Institute of National Security Studies (INSS), which serves as a center for security policy studies. He further elaborated that Lemhannas RI integrates various aspects of national resilience, encompassing ideology, politics, economics, defense and security, socio-cultural affairs, geography, demography, and natural resources.
During the discussion session, participants received a comprehensive explanation regarding the strategic study process at Lemhannas RI, which involves various ministries, government agencies, defense and security elements, academics, and educational program participants. The outcomes of these studies are subsequently formulated into strategic recommendations to be submitted to the President of the Republic of Indonesia.
It was also explained on this occasion that the formulation of these recommendations is conducted through various discussion forums and focus group discussions (FGDs). This approach ensures that input is gathered from diverse perspectives, yielding more comprehensive recommendations. “We do not work in isolation; rather, we invite various relevant government agencies to discuss, consolidate ideas, and jointly formulate recommendations,” Edi Permadi stated.
In addition to exploring the strategic study process, the discussion highlighted the unique challenges Indonesia faces as an archipelagic nation with diverse geographic and socio-cultural conditions. Consequently, fostering national leadership and strengthening national resilience are vital aspects in navigating the complexities of global dynamics. (IS/CHP/DA)
