Prime Secretary: Strong National Resilience Paves the Way for an Advanced, Sovereign and Dignified Indonesia

To mark the 61st anniversary of Lemhannas RI, Prime Secretary of Lemhannas RI, Commissioner General of Police Drs. R. Z. Panca Putra S., M.Si. delivered a National Address to participants and invited guests during the anniversary celebration at the Dwi Warna Purwa Hall on Wednesday (5/20). This year's anniversary carries the theme, "Transforming Lemhannas RI: Strengthening National Resilience to Support Asta Cita toward Indonesia Emas 2045."

In his address, Panca Putra stressed that amid today's increasingly complex global challenges, every nation must be able to adapt and build strong national resilience. "With resilient national resilience, mastery of science and technology, and strong national unity, Indonesia will not only be able to withstand global changes but also emerge as an advanced, sovereign and dignified nation on the global stage," he said.

He also called on all Lemhannas RI personnel to reflect on the institution's long-standing service while reinforcing its institutional capacity amid evolving global geopolitical dynamics. According to him, the anniversary serves as a reminder of the importance of a nation's resilience and strength, which are built through struggle, patriotism, statesmanship and sincere dedication in achieving national goals.

Furthermore, Panca Putra noted that, as the world's largest archipelagic nation, Indonesia is endowed with abundant natural resources, rich biodiversity and wildlife, cultural diversity, and a strategic geopolitical position. Such vast potential requires national leadership capable of managing these assets wisely, adaptively and sustainably. In this context, Lemhannas RI serves as a strategic institution tasked with educating and preparing national leaders who embody patriotism and statesmanship, possess geopolitical awareness, and are equipped with strategic thinking skills to navigate the rapidly changing global landscape.

Panca Putra also explained that national resilience is not merely a concept but a national perspective and paradigm firmly rooted in the nation's four fundamental consensuses: Pancasila, the 1945 Constitution, the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, and the national motto Bhinneka Tunggal Ika (Unity in Diversity).

He likened national resilience to a "Pohon Ketahanan Nasional" (Tree of National Resilience) that must grow strong and stand firmly as the nation's main pillar in safeguarding and protecting Indonesia in pursuit of its national goals. National resilience can only stand firm when it is rooted in the nation's ideology and national values, supported by an adaptive national outlook, and capable of identifying and anticipating every potential threat, disruption, obstacle and challenge to the country's sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity.

In response to increasingly multidimensional global challenges, Lemhannas RI is committed to continuously transforming national leadership education through the modernization of facilities and infrastructure, curriculum reform, strengthened learning methodologies, and the development of an adaptive, interdisciplinary and future-oriented strategic education ecosystem.

In carrying out its strategic assessment function, Lemhannas RI is also expected to produce comprehensive, anticipatory and data-driven studies to serve as policy considerations for national leaders.

At the same time, Lemhannas RI bears the responsibility of strengthening the nation's ideological foundation amid growing challenges posed by technological disruption, disinformation, social polarization, declining social cohesion and the spread of transnational ideologies. Various national values programs will continue to be developed and redesigned to reflect current conditions, particularly in response to shifting social demographics.

In addition, the development of the National Resilience Index Measurement Laboratory and public policy simulation remains a strategic priority. These initiatives continue to be strengthened not only as indicators of institutional performance but also as national strategic instruments providing an early warning system against potential threats, disruptions, obstacles and challenges that could affect the nation's resilience.

Panca Putra added that the national resilience approach must be developed comprehensively. It should not rely solely on the Asta Gatra doctrine but must also accommodate emerging dimensions such as digital transformation, big data and artificial intelligence, as well as strengthening legal frameworks and global governance.

Concluding his address, Panca Putra said that through the various strategic breakthroughs that have been and will continue to be implemented, Lemhannas RI will not only remain relevant but also become a driving force and a key pillar in realizing Indonesia Emas 2045.
