Lemhannas RI marked Eid al-Adha 1447 Hijri by slaughtering and distributing sacrificial meat at the East Parking Area of Lemhannas RI on Thursday (5/28).
Chief of the General Affairs Bureau of Lemhannas RI Brig. Gen. of Police Gatut Kurniadin, S.I.K., S.H., who served as the official in charge of the Eid al-Adha 1447 Hijri celebration at Lemhannas RI, said the institution received 13 cows and eight goats for sacrifice. The meat will be distributed to more than 1,000 recipients, including Lemhannas RI employees, cafeteria staff, cooperative staff, office cleaning personnel and residents living around Lemhannas RI.
On the occasion, Governor of Lemhannas RI Dr. H. TB. Ace Hasan Syadzily, M.Si. said Eid al-Adha serves as an important occasion to strengthen devotion to Allah SWT. "We offer sacrificial animals as a way of drawing closer to the Almighty. In the Islamic tradition, the sacrifice symbolizes the story of Prophet Ibrahim, who was commanded by Allah to sacrifice his son, Ismail," the Governor of Lemhannas RI said. He added that the story symbolizes a servant's willingness to sacrifice what is most precious for the Creator.
Concluding his remarks, the Governor of Lemhannas RI expressed his appreciation to all donors who entrusted their sacrificial animals to Lemhannas RI. "May the spirit of solidarity and mutual cooperation that we have demonstrated today truly reflect Indonesia's noble national values," he said.
