Governor of Lemhannas RI: Indonesia Needs Strong, Visionary, and Adaptive Leaders

The strength of a nation lies in the extent to which law enforcers work professionally in upholding justice," said the Governor of Lemhannas RI Dr. H. TB. Ace Hasan Syadzily, M.Si. while giving a public lecture at the School of Staff and Leadership (Sespimti) of Lemdiklat Polri, Lembang, West Bandung, West Java on Thursday (20/3). The public lecture on National Resilience was attended by participants of the 34th Regular Education of Sespimti Polri, the 65th Regular Education of Sespimmen Polri, and the Sespimma Polri batch 73.

 

In the midst of various global and national dynamics occurring in various parts of the world, Indonesia faces increasingly difficult challenges. "Everything that happens in Indonesia cannot be separated from the global context," said the Governor of Lemhannas RI. Therefore, the role of education, especially education at the leadership level of law enforcement officers in Indonesia, is becoming increasingly important to endure law enforcement officers fully understand the dynamics of the global situation.

 

In relation to this, the Governor of Lemhannas RI conveyed that a nation will have strong national resilience to achieve prosperity if law enforcement officers are professional and have the ability to uphold justice, and build integrity. Therefore, prospective law enforcement leaders need to be equipped with comprehensive, holistic, and integral education.

 

 

 

Furthermore, the Governor of Lemhannas RI conveyed several global geopolitical issues such as the economic pattern entering the new economic order where each country prioritizes domestic economic interests over trade transactions between countries. This certainly affects and disrupts the commodity supply chain. Furthermore, geopolitical conditions are also influenced by the possibility of cyber-based crimes, climate change, and the emergence of new diseases. "What happens in global dynamics will definitely affect the condition of national resilience and domestic security," said the Governor of Lemhannas RI.

 

 

 

 

Turning to the domestic situation, the 2024 National Resilience Index shows a fairly resilient position with a score of 2.87. However, of the eight dimensions measured, the socio-cultural dimension is in a less resilient status with a score of 2.55. Therefore, the challenges for the Police in realizing domestic security are quite complicated.

 

 

As regulated in Article 13 of Law Number 2 of 2002 concerning the Indonesian National Police, the task of the Police in maintaining national security stability is to maintain public security and order, enforce the law, and provide protection, shelter, and service to the community. Highlighting the mandate, the Governor of Lemhannas RI emphasized that the Police have a difficult task. "The task of the Police is totally crucial to create security," said the Governor of Lemhannas RI.

 

 

 

According to the Governor of Lemhannas RI, national security stability can only be achieved if we have the ability to understand changes in global strategy and respond to them with solid collaboration and synergy among various elements of the nation.

 

The Governor of Lemhannas RI emphasized that it is important for Polri members to continue to strengthen their understanding of the four basic consensuses of the nation and the basic values ​​of Bhayangkara which are reflected in Tri Brata, Catur Prasetya, and the Polri Professional Code of Ethics. Therefore, prospective Polri leaders must be visionary, adaptive, and innovative leaders in facing various tasks, empowering teams, and implementing the values ​​of sustainability and collaboration in decision-making.

 

"The leaders needed by our nation today are leaders with integrity, leaders with character, and leaders who provide examples so that they are able to mobilize the potential of the nation," said the Governor of Lemhannas RI. Closing his presentation, the Governor of Lemhannas RI emphasized that a good leader is a leader who is able to mobilize his members not because they are afraid of their members, but because their members understand that there is a common value of struggle.
